Armed
Forces Medical College (AFMC) was established in Pune in the year 1948,
on the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee. Indian Army Medical
Corps, which existed previously, was also merged into it. Today,
AFMC
Pune counts amongst the leading medical colleges of India.
AFMC Campus The campus of Armed Forces Medical College of Pune stands bordered by the Sahyadri mountain ranges, at an altitude of 2000 feet above sea level. The main college building was constructed in 1956 and comprises of the main administrative offices, the PG wing, major departments and the main library.
